Information You Submit
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Cherokee County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy controls what happens after the query reaches it.
If you email us or use a contact method, we keep the message and supplied contact details long enough to answer and manage the correspondence. We do not share a message outside our organization unless operating the service requires it or the law compels disclosure.
Automatic Technical Details
Ordinary web operations may record limited technical data when a page loads. That data helps keep the service stable, measure use, and find faults.
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookies may be used to understand visits and remember basic settings. Browser controls can block or remove them, though parts of the site or an outside search tool may behave differently afterward.
How Data Supports Operations
Collected information is used for a limited set of operating purposes.
- Keep pages available and responsive
- Send search requests to the selected partner tool
- Measure which Cherokee County topics are useful
- Diagnose errors, misuse, and security issues
- Display advertising that may be based on interests
Outside Websites and Advertising
Links may lead to CCDC, Cherokee County offices, ODOC, courts, federal locators, legal resources, and third-party search services. Once a visitor follows a link, that destination’s privacy policy and technical practices apply. Cherokee County Released Inmates does not control them.
Advertising companies may use their own cookies or similar tools to measure activity and choose ads across websites. That processing occurs on their systems under their policies.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may still reach service providers or public authorities when needed.
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver and assess ads
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
We use ordinary administrative and technical safeguards suited to a public information site. No internet-connected service can promise perfect protection, and this notice does not claim that a breach or data loss is impossible.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the request, a person may ask for the following:
- A copy of personal data we hold about them
- Correction of inaccurate submitted information
- Deletion of data that no longer must be retained
- An opt-out from certain processing where available
These requests concern data controlled by this site. CCDC, a court, ODOC, and an outside search provider each control their own records and privacy processes.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as services, providers, or legal duties change. A revised version will be posted here with its new effective date. Effective date: August 1, 2026.
